Information On Domestic Worker Visa

Hi all

I am finding out some information on behalf of my friend. She is currently in the UK on a working holiday visa, which is due to expire in November. She is staying with a family where she looks after their baby and does domestic chores.

I wanted to find out whether once her working holiday visa expires if it was possible for her to change her visa from within country to a domestic worker visa, what she needs to show etc. Any advice would be much appreciated. I have tried to do some research but most information I have come across is very confusing!!

Many thanks

Spouses' Working Right

Hi,
Recently I had some difficulties with my employer hope someone can help me.
I used to have a Spouse visa and my employer only gave me limited contract. The reason given was that I held a limited period visa.

In the mean time I got my settlement visa with indefinite leave to remain in the UK. When I gave the H.R. department my settlement visa they said they are not going to exchange my contract from a temporary to a permanent one straight away and that they have to wait until my contract runs out. (2011). They have not put this refusal in writing.

I feel so insecure. They are going to let people go and won't give me a permanent contract.

I would like to find out if it is legal to give me a temporary contract when I hold a spouse visa at all (even when it had a time limit) Let alone now that it has no time limit?

Many Thanks

Can A Step Son Be The Tier1 Dependent

Hi,

New to the forum...
have a question and hope to get cleared...

Is a step son considered as Tier1 dependent? I mean to say , a child from the previous marriage of the wife. they are married now and wife has a child from her prev marriage & the child is living with them and she has the court orders saying that she is the sole parental responsibilities. Can this child( step child ) be a dependent of her present Hubby and can he apply for Tier1 dependent visa for himself adn wife and step child?

cheers

Extension Of Domestic Visa

Hi,
My maid had got an Overseas Domestic worker visa in Nov 09 for 6 months.
It is due to expire in April 2010.
In our employment contract we had declared that we would be paying her 30,000 INR per month by bank tranfer into her account in India.

When i was going thru the rules for extension of visa on the UK homeoffice website it says that i need to provide evidence that the employment complies with the UK legislation on the national minimum wage.
I dont think it will be possible to do that. Can someone please guide me .
Also what documents do i need to submit again for visa extension ?

Permission To Work App From Reporting Centre

Hello,

I raised a question about this sometime last year but I now have additional information to move this app forward, I would appreciate some help please.

I submitted a dependency application last year to the HO based on hubby's HSMP visa however decision hasnt been made yet.

In the mean time, I have to report weekly due to a previous application that wasnt granted.

I have now been told by my reporting centre that if I want to work, I can submit a 'permission to work' app directly to them and they would decide based on their "usual criteria" - the only thing is I dont know what this criteria is and what my application letter should include.

Personally I just need to get out and make myself useful and also plead on compassionate grounds as we were bereaved last year and it would really just help to get on with life if I could begin to use my talent and skills.

Has anyone made such applications before? What process do they follow at reporting centres to make a decision whether i can work or not?

Help will be much appreciated.

Thank you
