OK so is there a way round it? Someone I can speak to who can possibly shed the light regarding the whole situation. Anyone who can also tell about this Code of Practice clause too??

This thing is really doing my head in. I work in a fairly small sized company and they haven't done this before, so its me pushing the boat here.

Thanks

I suggest that they, and you, get assistance from a company who do this on a regular basis. I would be happy to assist, or at least try to.

Thanks again Victoria

I'll give you a tinkle tomorrow or ask my line manager if he is available. Do you have a direct line that I could contact you on?

As far i can understand you can claim points for education if you have done PGD and now want to go on T2 (formally work permit), But if you want to go to Tier 1 then you have to have master degree.
Simply use online calculator to do assesment for Tier 2 General
But dont forget about Code of Practice

(please note i just got my T2 vise base on my 22k wage and pgd)

There is an added problem if the PGD was legally obtained but the institution is no longer on the database.

Hi Anul

Can you please advise if your institution was still on the HO database when you applied?

Victoria, the qualification was legally obtained and it was on the HO database when I got my PSW. However it is no there anymore. It was accredited by the BAC.

Hi guys

I was wondering if someone can really help me with my query. I know its too late in the game but I would just like to know my options.

I would like to enquire something regarding the skilled worker category Tier 2 General application. I am planning to apply for Tier 2 Sponsored visa in the UK. My employer has already received the licence.

I am currently on a PSW visa for which I would receive 30 points.
For my salary, I will get 15 points.
My only query is about the qualification. I received my PSW visa on the basis of the PG Diploma which is from Westminster College of Computing. This college was on the Home Office register when I got my PSW, however it is not there anymore. I also have an Ed-Excel BTEC HND in Hospitality & Tourism Management which is not related to my current job but I have been working in the company for more than a year now. The issue is that the college I did the HND from is closed too.

Can you please advise if am eligible for the 10 points for the PG Diploma or the 5 points for the BTEC HND? Also, can I use my PG Diploma for the English requirement?

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

1. Check the PBS (points based calculator) to see if your qualification gives u point for english requirements.
2. As far as the college is closed then u shud be fine as wen u did the course the college was listed and now its not.
3. For English language, the qualification must exceed or same level as a UK Bachelors degree.
