1. Check the PBS (points based calculator) to see if your qualification gives u point for english requirements.
2. As far as the college is closed then u shud be fine as wen u did the course the college was listed and now its not.
3. For English language, the qualification must exceed or same level as a UK Bachelors degree.

Hi Ash786

Thanks for your reply.

I am not able to check the PBS calculator since the college doesnt exist on their database. There are a lot of other institutions on their database which do PG Diploma and they get 10 points for that. But I am not sure if I'll get points for either the qualification or the English requirement because my college is not there.

Please reply as a matter of urgency because I am thinking of applying for an IELTS test. If you guys can advise me soon, it might save me 110 for the test.

Thanks

" KRISHI" Get a Letter from UKNARIC regarding the Level of Your Qualification

[/quote]

1. UKNARIC normally confirms the level of the qualifications for overseas qualifications and not the UK qualifications.
2. UKnaric does not confirm that whether the qualification was taught in English or not.
3. Its the institution who can confirm.

I just spoke to someone at the home office contact centre and was advised that for me to qualify for Tier 2 general, I have to claim points for qualification.

I am on a PSW visa - 30 points
and getting 25k - 20 points
Total 50

I am giving an English test and my sponsor has confirmed the maintenance.

Do I still need to claim points for qualification? I dont understand, please guide.

Once again a reminder that the employees who take these calls should not be relied upon - follow the guidance on the UKBA website.

I presume you are aware of the Tier 2 changes which will mean that after 6 April you will only score 15 points for your earnings.

Best Wishes
Kim

That's a good example of why they don't charge for their advice. ;)
