I have to assume the lady who took your details was not apprised (or not her job to be apprised) of the conditions. Really, I have to stick my neck out here and say that I'm pretty sure the HMRC will not be sponsoring people for this program under Tier 2 and that you will need to be free from immigration control (and one of the required nationalities) to be considered. Let me know if I am wrong!

I'm suggesting (with some confidence)! The application FAQs make no mention that they would be prepared to do this.

Victoria what do you about all this.. have you ever seen someone getting sponsorship from HMRC on a graduate program??

These days there are very few government departments willing to sponsor...hospitals, councils, most won't do it anymore. I suspect that the reference to commonwealth nationals means ancestry visa holders.

But...talk to them. You've come this far after all.
