Hi I have found out that if you get your docs checked by your local council before sending in your application for naturalisation, you can hold on to your passport. Can you also travel on this passport while the application is still in progress?
Thank you

hi can you travel while your application is in process and you have your original passport to hand?

Yes you can, but do appreciate that after the "application successful" letter has been issued, you have only 3 months to attend a Citizenship Ceremony.

You can get a certified copy of your passport from any solicitor and keep hold of the original. You don't have to go to the NCS.

Hello,
My husband applied for his british naturaliation form (AN) under the spouse terms but I need to travel on a business trip, so is it possible for me to get my passport back WITHOUT affecting or stopping his naturilisation application ?
What is he also requests for his old nationality passport back whilst still in the process of going through naturalization ?
I didn't want to spam by creating another thread so joined this as it was a similar topic.
Thank you very much for your input.

Thanks Victoria, I knew I can count on you.
So we could both have our passports back, whilst the Naturlisation processes continues.
If you don't mind, is there any place, forums, threads or otherwise where I can find out rough times for those who applied in January 2012 and when they are expected to have their application processed successfully ? What factors can delay a spouse naturalization ?
Many thanks

You can certainly do that.
I don't think that time lines for naturalisation are published, sorry.
