Hi, hopefully you guys can help me,

My wife is on a 2 year spouse visa (no recourse to public funds), we got married approx 18months ago.

Unfortunately i (British citizen, born here) am only currently working 20 hours a week and as such we are very much struggling with our general bills. Especially rent, we are increasingly finding ourselves in debt and behind. She works full time incidentally.

I presume i cannot claim housing benefit (or some other benefit to help us) as this will go against the spouse visa requirement (no recourse to public funds) and presumably cause trouble for when she has to apply for whichever visa comes next after her spouse visa?
