We are aware that some members are recieving personal messages from other users offering help and assistance with outstanding applications.  We have also been made aware that some of these users are claiming to be UKBA employees and are giving personal email addresses with offers of assistance.

We cannot stress strongly enough that such offers are wholly unlawful, and against the terms and conditions of the board.  More importantly, to give your personal information to a stranger in this way is extremely risky.  There is no way of verifying whether or not these people are genuinely UKBA employees, and even if they are they should not be making offers in this way, and it may be that they expect payment for information.  They are certainly acting contrary to the Civil Service Code of Conduct, and unethically, and it is unlikely that they could actually help you.

If you want help with your immigration application, you should only go to one of the following:

• A solicitor (regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority)
  
• A barrister (regulated by the Bar Standards Board)
  
• Legal Executives (regulated by CILEx)
  
• Immigration Advisors (regulated by OISC)

You can of course also go to your Member of Parliament, local Councillor, or approach the UKBA directly through one of the methods on their website.

Any unregulated and unauthorised members found to be offerring assistance by PM in this way will be banned from the forum with immediate effect.

the offers of help can go even further.

back in 2008, even before i was aware of this board, i received a phone call from someone who was asking me to pay £5k and he will sort out my ILR, he had in front of him every information i supplied to the UKBA about myself, he could have either got hold of these infos from my solicitor's office or the UKBA themselfs, basically at one stage he did work for my solicitor of the UKBA.

his phone number was hiden (private), then i managed to get him to give me his number with a promise to call him back when i managed to get the finance together, of course i was just after his number, which i gave to my solicitor and asked him to pass it on to the UKBA people.

i don't know what happened after that.


what suprised me, was that no one knows the informations he was telling me over the phone about myself, only the UKBA and my lawyer are in posession of that.

My case was a lady who speaks English well but with misspellings and it is true that she knows the laws very well and the way how to apply,
she also pretends to be working for visa section in Liverpool.I have reported the case and she's under police investigation even
she has send the e-mails from locations totally different from those pretending to be her house or her work,
And yes, it is worrying how much details she have...

Hi my friend also received message from a lady on here she say liverpool aswell sounds same as you said what was her name? i think from the message he receivee the username is NMA11 is this same as you? we did not report it just ignore it but maybe we should report
