Employer Asking For Immigration Documents
Posted 27 August 2012 - 01:50 PM
My friend is is working for his company for 2 year. When he joined the company he provided his original and copy of the passport with ILR status. He is now become a British citizen and got the British passport
Recently the company has asked him to provide all his immigration details starting from first time he arrived in UK and all the status that were changed and all the passport stamps and British Passport.(in short another ILR application plus citizenship app docs).
This is not a big problem to provide all this information but isn't this is what he provided to HO when applying for the ILR and British citizen ship and also he is not sure if the Employer is entitled to ask all this information.
As mentioned earlier providing information is not an issue but after getting the British citizenship, is a person is entitled to to provide all his/her immigration history to his/her employer? of course if it is HO than we don't mind.
Please give your feedback
