I have just looked at the UK Border Agency published visa processing times in Pakistan, and for Spouse/Settlement the average is 85% in 120 days...

Maybe a stupid question but..... is 120 days as per the website defined as 16 weeks/4 months? Reason for this question is for clarity on the below extract from thier website which speaks of weeks not days and one week defined as 5 working days:

QUOTE "" We have service standards for processing UK visa applications in Pakistan. Our standards say that we will process:

• 95 per cent of settlement applications within 12 weeks and 100 per cent within 24 weeks of the application date.

Please note that we define one week as 5 working days."" UNQUOTE

It has been 3.5 months since we submitted.

Ignore 'service standards'.  That is their apparant aim, and is meaningless.

Thanks Victoria.... so I guess if average is 120 days in Pakistan at the moment based on August statistics, then we are looking at circa 4 months (depending on case)....?

It's not 120 days.  It's between 80 and 120 days.

you are right i also apply for my wife in islamabad in pakistan and with my twine sons as well they bothe just in one year old.i am working full time,i apply for her since 25/05/2012. but i am still waiting for them ,to call my wife, if any one have good advice please repply me,

Hi guys

Don't want to be the one giving the bad news, but it seems the 120 days refers to working days only. So you'll have to add 48 more days on for the weekends. Which makes a total of 168 days which is exactly 24 weeks. So it is possible, Aisha, you may have to wait another 2 months and pakhunkhawa, up to a month. I submitted my wife's case on the 8th of June and it has now been 4 months and still waiting.

I have tried to email the high commission in Islamabad, but to no reply. (I've sent them about 10 emails, very poor service).

I hope I am wrong with my maths and someone can confirm 120 days is just 4 months.

Thanks Ammar...... I was hoping it is interpreted as 4 months also.... I have been following a timelines on another forum and it seems like a 5 - 6 months wait right now.

Lets just hope things improve and waiting times reduce. My husband submitted his on 25th June... we are waiting for the 4 month mark before we chase.

Can I ask Aisha, where are tracking this timeline?

And secondly, what do you plan to do when chasing?

As I am feeling rather helpless and run out of ideas. (to be honest. I only had one idea and that was to email them, which has had no benefit)

I was just browsing on the UKBorder website and going through the timetables for August. It seems those who submitted their case through Mirpur (as I did), then it takes longer then the one who goes through Islamabad.

hi all friends i have one good news from gerry,s office in islamabad,my recive the call from islamabad and say come to office and collect your passports,in friday i will tell again yours peoples what is happen did she have visa or not,i apply for my wife and my twin sons (boths are14 months only) in islamabad 25/05/2012. but i am 100% sure they will get visa because i have proivide to to immigration two jobs full time,

inshahallah you all peoples will get good news as soon as well.
