Does anyone know of the current time scales for hearing about UK citizenship applications as I have been told that it can take up to 3 years!
We have been waiting nearly 6 months now and we have not heard anything at all and we are getting worried now.
My husband has had no issues since he came to the uk, no criminal convictions or anything like that at all. The only negative thing is that, at the moment, he is not working. He has worked in the past and has paid tax and national insurance.
I do think that they could at least give you an update every now and again to stop you worrying, after all it costs enough money to put the applications in. After you have gone through all the different procedures it has generated the government a few thousand pounds for each person who has applied.
If anyone has any idea please let me know so we can stop worrying for a while,
Thank you

Your husband being unemployed won't have any adverse affect on the application. Most applications appear to be delayed at present. It may help to follow this thread: http://www.ukresiden...naturalisation/

Thank you Susi, It is so frustrating having to wait with no idea of when you will hear anything. When I rang them they told me it could take 3 years I was so shocked to hear that why on earth shpould it take so long?? My husband has not got anything to hide so I don't understand the delay. I guess lots of people are in the same position it would be so nice if we could just get soem idea of how much longer we will have to wait.

I wouldn't take notice of the 3 year comment. Follow the thread I've posted for live updates on others timsescales.
