Hi all,

I am Ukrainian citizen want to marry British national. We decided to get married in Ukraine for a few reasons: cheaper, easy to invite relatives and family (no need to apply for visa) etc.

My major concerns are:

1. Will our marriage be recognized under UK law, and
2. Will UKBA (home office) issue spouse visa taken into consideration overseas marriage certificate?

I know they have a procedure of applying for fiance visa and then for spouse.

Please help advising who has knowledge and/or experience int his matter.

Thanks you.

Yes, if it's recognised as legal in the Ukraine. You'll need to have the marriage certificate translated into English by a professional translator.
