My husband (Egyptian) and I (British) have been living together (in Egypt) for 6 years and married for 4. We have a 3 year old and I'm pregnant (due in Jan so 7.5 monthsish) During the last 7 years my husband has had 6 or 7 visit visas to Uk, a fiance visa (we married in the UK) and a settlement visa (which we didn't use due to deciding to stay in Egypt a little longer).

After a complicated start to my pregnancy (misdiagnosed blighted ovum and advised to terminate) I flew back with our son to uk and have remained there throughout the pregnaNCY. Due to complications, I cannot give birth in Egypt.

To cut a very long story short, we have decided our time is up in Egypt and would like to settle in UK so applied for a settlement visa (just before the laws all changed).

Due to a misunderstanding about the English Language Requirement exam thingy, we failed to submit this certificate with the visa application. A week or so after applying we were informed by friends of our mistake, so contacted the British embassy Cairo to ask them to put our application on hold while we sit the exam, which we did the next available opportunity. Got the certificate (after a 6 week wait) and the next day got the visa refused due to not having the certificate :/

We have made an appeal, and asked for it to be fast tracked due to my pregnancy. Is it likely they'll fast track (due in 10 weeks, appeal submitted 5 weeks ago), or am I going to have to go it alone?
Also could we apply for a visit visa so he can attend the birth if the aPPEAL ISN'T PROCESSED IN TIME?

Thanks in advance xx

If that was the only reason for refusal, you would be quicker reapplying. It is very rare that appeals are fast tracked, and I've never seen it because of a pregnancy.

We would be refused under the new laws. I'm a pregnant, stay at home mum and haven't worked for 6 years (supported fully by husband). I don't/can't earn the salary required...

So if you don't think it'll be fast tracked, should we/could we apply for a visit visa? I really don't want hubby to miss the birth :(
