Ste, there are a number of companies who do behave in this way. I've been working for over 13 years on work permits in the IT industry and some of the things I have seen have been disgusting and immoral as you say.

However, it's not true to say that they are all like that. There are several who pay excellent salary rates, have legitimate contracts and who are happy to write suitable letters to help the employee get ILR.

Myself Rajesh working has EMC storage administrator having 5 yrs of experience.Presently i am working in UK on TIER 2 ICT short term visa.Is there any possibility to convert into tier 2 general and also looking for sponsorship.

VISA Validity : October 2012 to April 2013.

You can extend your T2 ICT Short Term visa to max. 12 months provided you have a CoS. However, when your leave under the T2 ICT Short Term visa expires (extended or not) you must leave the UK. Provided you have a CoS you can then apply for entry clearance in the T2 ICT Long Term Staff category but you would not be able to return to the UK as a Tier 2 General migrant for 12 months (cooling-off).

Once you leave the UK, and whoever sponsors you, you will not be able to return as a Tier 2 General migrant for 12 months.

no, but you would have to apply for entry clearance from abroad and satisfy the requuirements for T2 ICT Long Term Staff

I have left the UK on dec 19th 2012,but my ICT short term visa expires on april 2013.

now the cooling off period applies from dec 2012 or april 2013?
