..they issued me a NI Number which is assume is Dummy NI Number....can not used anywhere else except for their records

Why? Do NOT quote the whole number, but what is the format? There are two letters, then six numbers, followed by a letter A, B, C or D?
If so, the two letters? Are they TN?

First two letters are ...OO then six numbers ....and there is NO last alphabet or letter like A,B,C OR D etc....SO Total are 8 Which i assume is dummy NI Number and they did not ask me to come for any interview appointment at any jobcentre..decided on original documents by post only....

That does not sound like a NI number at all. I think it is merely their own reference number, when the applicant does not have a NI number.

yes i believe too...but it is a misguidance because on tax credit letter they sent us ...it shows National Insurance Number in front of my wife name ..and then National insurance number in front of my name in the same pattern.....better i will phone them and ask tax credit people whether this is a Dummy or real NI Number...but i know that usually they do not issue NI No. without immigration staus.

Today i called tax credit department about the NI Number clarification...yes they told me ..it is a Temporary NI No. and i can use it for filling forms etc...but i will get real NI No once immigration status is sorted out...
