hi
hope the kind people on this forum can help me with this tricky but potentially money saving option to apply for naturisation.
my wife has permanet residency and due to apply for naturisation for her self and register my child as a british national in april 2013 which is likely to cost 851£ for the mrs and £551 for the child i am due to apply for permanet residency in august of 2013 or naturisation should my wife applications be succesfull my question now is
1) as it will be almost a saving of £400 should we all wait and apply in august together and get the couple discount? but how do we go about asking the HO to consider my wife application first is it just a straight forward letter or there are certain rules and references to make in the letter and has any one got a templete of such a letter to help others in a similar situation?
2)the life in the uk test i know they are trying to change things will it matter if both of us say pass the test in january and wait till august to make our application.
thanks you all in advance

Interesting topic esp. as it is similar to my position:
My husband was eligible to apply for BC in Sept. '12 and I for PR in Nov. '12. Had I known that it was possible to apply together and ask that my husband's application be decided first then we might have opted for this (to mainly save on cost).
As it is, my husband has already gotten his BC approval and i'm currently waiting for my PR confirmation from the UKBA before applying for BC as the spouse of a British National. Of course I have to take and pass the LIUK test first which I cannot do at the moment as my passport and only form of ID is with the UKBA.
That's £400 down the pipes and some time that could've been saved. Oh well...

not read any success stories on this forum about how simple a case that route might take as the home office have a tendancy of making very simple and common sense things complicated so will keep you guys updated if anyone has a success storey about this route lets us know at least will give as an idea
