Hi,

My wife came into this country back in sept,2003.On that time she was a dependent and I was on a student visa. Later I switched myself to her dependent and she become a student. Since then she was a student until December 2010 when I got my ILR and she get a two year spouse visa. Now I become British Citizen.
Last week she got her ILR through PEO and now she had to apply for her naturalisation.
My question is when she can apply for her naturalisation? although we been told by PEO that she can apply after one year but I think she could apply straight now as she is already living in this country since last 9 years. Please correct me if I am wrong here.

Thanks

Hi,

I am going to send my wife's naturalisation next week through NCS service. My question is about JSA, as my wife didn't work here since she came and now she is looking for work and I know she can apply for any benefits(after ILR) but if she is in her middle of naturalisation can she apply for JSA? Does that affect on her case?I think they going to check her NI + TAX contribution.

Thanks

JSA doesn't affect naturalisation. The question on whether she is employed or not is for checking that tax has been paid, but if there's no income there's no tax to pay. Naturalisation doesn't require an income or savings.
