I am in the UK, my partner currently lives in Greece but is originally from Pakistan, so needs a visa if he wants to join me in the UK.
My income is less than the £18600 required so I know I need around £22k in savings.
I have 2 questions:
Firstly, if I got money from a friend/family to help with my savings, I read it needs to be a gift and not a loan. Does this also mean I could not get a bank loan either? I am aware I need to have the money in my account for 6 months.
Secondly, if I managed to find a job for my partner for when he comes here. and have this offer in writing, could it be taken into account for towards the £18600 total?
Thanks

First question - have you been in Greece with him?

yes but only for 2 visits, the first time was for 4 days and the second was for 3 days. I am going over for another 4 days at the end of December.
We met in Greece when I was on holiday there and he was working at the place I was staying. His job finished at the end of September as the summer
season closed and he is currently looking for another job but has not found anything so far.

And the money must be a gift not a loan.

thank you for your replies. So basically we need to save the required amount then wait 6 before he can apply, or I have to get a 2nd job then wait 6 months? I assume me having a 2nd job is ok as long as I have paylips and bank statements as evidence?
