Hi all,
I had travelled to France last week and had my passport stolen at a train station. I came to the UK in 2005 and had my ILR stamped on my passport in June 2011.In France a Police complaint has been filed and an Indian passport valid for 2 years was provided at the Paris indian embassy. Now I am back in the UK and would like to know what the procedure is to get my ILR back on the new passport. When I came to the UK and had my ILR there was no NTL card or biometric card or I've had any biometrics done. What forms should I fill to get my ILR back on my new passport. Also I was thinking of applying for my british citizen as it is now 71/2 years. Will I be able to directly apply for citizenship by surrendering my new passport provided at France and by providing copies of all the HSMP stamps I had on my old passport including ILR.
Please advise. Really confused if I should go for british citizen as my son's passport is british.
Thanks in advance.
Regards
Sindy

It is totally your choice. If you want to apply to naturalise you can (you'd need the KOL test if you haven't already taken it) or you can apply on form NTL.

Thanks Vicotria. Just a question on that. Are you saying I can naturalise (apply for british citizen) with the new indian passport that doesnot have the ILR. But I have the copies which I can submit. And also I dont have to take a test. Back in 2005, I had taken a life in the UK test which was valid of r 2yrs then. Should I again take life in the UK test for british citizenship.
When I looked at the life in UK test website, they want a form of indentity , I do not have a UK driving licence but only have a passport. Is this new passport enough if I need to do a life in UK test.
Please clarify. Your response is very much helpful and appreciated.
Thanks
Sindy

As I have said, you can naturalise now if you wish.
If you have already taken the test there is no need to take it again.
