hi Guys,

First, let me say how grateful i am to this forum in giving us advice and help which helped me a lot in doing my naturalisation:

http://www.ukresiden...s-ready-except/

I am now British and even have my new british passport delivered recently.

Second, i am willing to naturalise my 8 years old daughter who was born here in UK and left to Mexico a year later (Mexican mother).
I read a lot of articles on the UKBA site but i am still confused a bit and need some advice please. I have few questions:
  • Is there a difference between registation and naturalisation?
  • Can i provide 2 Mexican referees from there (one teacher and one doctor) as my daughter was still a baby when she left UK?
  • Is it wise to use the Nationality checking service for an MN1 application or this is straight forward?
  • The section 4 about good character isn't applicable to my daughter (only for those10 years old and plus), how about the section 2 about residence, do i need to fill that or provide something?

Many thanks again

Then you can't use an NCS, though you could use a legal rep if you wanted to.

so MN1 is the right form and what about the difference between naturalisation and registration?
why do i need legal rep? isn't it a straight forward application? i still don't see where the issues are that's the reason of my question

It should be, but you seem a little stuck.

Children don't naturalise, they register.
