hi, i know the limit for applying for spouse visa is 18,600 but does this mean you have to be working and have that income or have it in savings? if i am on income support and child benefit and i have that amount or over can we still apply for a spouse visa outside the uk? also do i have to prove i have this amount of income for the 5 years it takes for my partner to stay here permanently? thank you

You need to read the rules. Benefits will almost certainly not count and savings need to be significantly more.
