Hello everyone,
My 3 year tier 1 General visa is due for renewal on 5th of April 2013. I am not sure how long the renewal process takes.
As I need to travel to my home country for business purpose in first week of April for one month. Is over the desk visa a solution for this (i dont care about extra fees)? coz I have heard that even on desk visas aren't processed instantly and UKBA takes its own time verifying the application and sends it by post.
First I though I would travel to my home country and send my passport to a immigration lawyer by courier to make an application but then I will have to go for finger print scan. Can I do a finger print scan and not submit my passport?? and then send it later by courier???
I don't want to risk my visa,it is important to me but the travel to my home country supersedes.
Regards,

Same day service is the best idea for you. As long as your application meets all the requirements of the rules and your provide every single required document, the UKBA shouldn't have to keep your application. Most applications are delayed because the form isn't completed correctly or the documents aren't provided.
If in doubt and, as you were considering using an immigration lawyer anyway, you could instruct one to check your application before you attend the premium appointment.
