Dear All,

Hope you are all okay.

Please if someone can help me regarding UK visit visa for my younger brother and his wife in Mumbai. I am a British passport holder.

1.     Can I sponsor both of them or only my brother?

2.     What proof will I have to give that there’s a spare bedroom in my house for them to stay.

Thanks for your help.

You can sponsor them both, but more important than proving you have a spare bedroom is for your brother and his wife to submit documented evidence that they have strong ties to their home country. Most visitor visa applications are refused when the ECO isn't convinced that the visitors won't overstay. They also need to show that they are self-sufficient in their home country (bank statements, employment, property ownership etc).
This is essential even if you are financing the trip.

Dear Susi,

Thank you very much for your help.

Is there any government authorized department giving in writing how many bedrooms I have in my house or I should just mention in sponsorship letter that I have these many bedrooms.

Thanks.

Regards.

I would mention how many bedrooms you have. As I've already mentioned, most importantly you need to prove your relatives strong ties to their home country.
