We just got my wife and step-daughter's applications approved. It took just over 3 weeks from the date we sent it. I was expecting a 5-6 month wait. Hooray for British efficiency. :) I guess they were deemed a straight-forward case (Australian, living here 5 years and we have another child together who is British by birth). Hopefully it won't be long before the ceremony is arranged.

Congratulations!!!!

When did you apply? Please supply more info just like FETOP above. This may help everyone who have put recent application in to HO and a timescale.

Kind regards

Yes you can get your passport back without disturbing the process. I suggest you call them on Monday and tell them to make note on their system of your planned holiday. Then in 1st week of June call back the office and ask for the passports back only.

Good luck

Just came across the latest update for processing of applications on the home office website:

http://www.ukba.home...g/waitingtimes/

They are anticipating an 'up to 7 month wait' until applicants hear from them.
